CEMS quality control, including QAL2 and AST measurements, is a key element in monitoring and reducing emissions from waste-to-energy facilities, power plants and other industrial sources. Testing laboratories play a crucial role in monitoring and reporting emissions which requires them to comply with strict regulatory requirements. In this speech, we will discuss current measuring standards and regulatory quality control of CEMS and the latest developments of the portable automated measuring system (P-AMS) solutions for compliance measurements in Europe. The requirements set by EN 15267-4 standard are discussed. Insights will be shared on the instrumentation challenges that need to be addressed with the increasing demand to further increase the reliability and efficiency of quality control measurement devices. Finally, data produced by P-AMS will be discussed.
