Air Pollution Action Group (A-PAG) has been working with Regional Officer, Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) on improving compliance with Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) in the red category industries of Prayagraj. Our project plan includes on paper and field surveys of the industries to oversee their implementation and identify key issues. We will be sharing a report with them based on the survey on how can they improve compliance going forward, and also work with them closely to remove potential challenges while doing so. We will be doing impact measurement of the project as well in terms of improvement on CEMS implementation. We have already received self reported preliminary data from five industries in the city. We have identified key issues in implementation under the following categories- 1) Analyzer has been installed across all stacks and for all pollutants 2) Analyzer installed is of correct technology and certification 3) Analyzer has been installed at the right location in the stack 4) Analyzer has been calibrated sufficiently 5) Data is getting sent to the PCB servers
