Dr. Maria Tsivlidou is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Manchester, supervised by Professor Grant Allen. Her research focuses on methane emission quantification and validation using UAV-based measurements. She earned her PhD in Atmospheric Physics and Chemistry from the University of Toulouse (Laboratoire d’Aérologie), with a thesis titled “Ozone and CO distributions in the tropics using observational (IAGOS and IASI) and model (SOFT-IO) data.” She holds a Master’s degree in Climate Physics from Utrecht University and a BSc in Physics from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She has also worked on quantifying wetland methane emissions in South Sudan using TROPOMI satellite data. Her research combines in situ, remote sensing, and modeling approaches to study tropospheric composition and greenhouse gas emissions.
Alexandre Lytkine (PhD in Physics and Mathematics) is a CEO and CTO at Light Peaks Inc. located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Prior to that, from 2003 to 2011, he was a Research Associate with professor John Tulip at the University of Alberta, Canada. Alexandre is a co-author of a cryogenic gas analyzer proposed to NASA for methane detection on Mars. At Light Peaks, he developed innovative solutions for trace gas sensing using tunable laser diodes and advanced signal processing algorithms. He is currently focused on transferring the technology to industry.
My name is Martina Gianotti, and I am a PhD student in Chemical Sciences at the University of Milano-Bicocca. My research focuses on the analysis of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted during the combustion of emerging fuels such as biomass. I am also involved in proficiency testing to evaluate current methods and validate new approaches for distinguishing between fossil and biogenic sources of CO₂ in emissions.

Dr. Gourab Dutta Banik, Postdoc at PTB since 2023. He did his PhD in the field of high-resolution laser spectroscopy instrument development and practical application cavity ring-down techniques in exhaled human breath and atmospheric trace gas measurement from S. Sean Cronin is the Director of Field Operations at Picarro, Inc., a global leader in advanced optical spectroscopy solutions, specializing in high-precision gas concentration and stable isotope analyzers. Sergio HARB PhD and Research Engineer within the MIV/EMIS unit (INERIS), with over 4 years of experience in the research field. His current research focuses on source emission characterization. His doctoral thesis focused on the nighttime reactivity of BVOCs with the NO3 radical, which enabled him to gain expertise with a wide range of advanced analytical instruments for gas-phase and particulate characterization. Paul Green is a principal scientist in Climate and Earth Observation group at the UK’s National Physical Laboratory. Paul oversees NPL’s development of novel EO pre-flight calibration technologies and leads NPL’s industrial contribution to the ESA TRUTHS mission. Paul is also the atmospheric domain lead with a focus on the quality metrics and standards development for satellite derived GHGs and pollutant products. Paul is a UK representative on the CEOS WG climate GHG task team. Paul received an PhD in Atmospheric Physics from Imperial College London, and a MPhys in Physics from the University of Manchester and have worked at NPL since 2011.
Dr. Xiaohong Iris Xu is a Professor at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Windsor, Canada. She received her Ph.D. degree in Environmental Engineering at the University of Connecticut, USA. She then worked at the University of Michigan. She joined the University of Windsor in 2002. Her research interests include air quality monitoring, air quality modeling, source apportionment, emission control, environmental exposure and risk assessment.

Dr. Joachimiak holds a PhD in Chemistry from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland, with research experience at the Nara Institute of Science and Technology in Japan. He has over 15 years of professional expertise in analytical instrumentation and mass spectrometry, having worked as a Field and Senior Service Engineer at Waters in Poland and Sweden, and currently serves as Service Manager Europe at Syft Technologies. His technical background covers advanced chromatography, Hi-end mass spectrometry, and NMR systems.
With more than 5 years of experience in the Methane emissions Reduction field, Cristina Lopez currently pilots the gas detection activity in NaTran R&I (formerly GRTgaz, main TSO in France). She has experience in laboratory tests (sensor evaluation), field campaigns (source level & site level), and technical studies (LCA, emission reduction) among others. She is currently involved in several international groups such as GERG, where she participates in the proposal and production of several projects, and she has worked in collaboration with GTI Energy (USA).
Additionally, she delivers workshops during international conferences (Methane Mitigation Summit Europe, IGRC, CH4 connections among others).
All these achievements gave her the recognition of “gas emissions specialist” within the group.
She is an energy engineer by the Technical University of Madrid, and she holds a Master research degree by Mines Paristech.
