Abstract Information :

The XEAC is the Administration's analysis and control instrument that allows continuous and real-time monitoring of the pollutants emitted by the sources that have a greater potential impact on the atmosphere. The network, started in 1993 with five facilities connected by radio, currently consists of 103 facilities, where emissions from 170 AMS-equipped stacks are monitored. The number of pollutants, peripherals, flow measurements and other control parameters reaches 483, which represent more than 60 Gb of data per year. This equipment makes it possible to know the emission levels of the companies and to check the degree of compliance with their emission limit values but also to have information on the emission of pollutants from the stacks in real time, becoming an important tool for the real-time management of possible incidents, but also as a source of data for the planning of actions aimed to improved air quality plans. With the aim of having high quality data, the XEAC is made up of: - Adequate AMS, which have QAL1 certification in accordance with EN 15267 standards - AMS calibrated to give data with an acceptable uncertainty, according to EN 14181 - Data acquisition and handling systems, in accordance with EN 17255 - A XEAC server in the facility, which receives this data and keeps it constantly updated in an agreed format - Two control centres, located in Tarragona and Barcelona. where the data is received and stored every 10 minutes. - External data query tools located in Emergency Coordination Centre of Catalunya (CECAT) Given the characteristics of the distribution in Catalunya of the industries with a strong impact in terms of atmospheric pollution, the highest impact emissions sources are mainly distributed in the industrial regions of Tarragona, which gather the petrochemical industry and the urban region of Barcelona.
