Paper Title: Experimental Design For Wwtp Data Evaluation By Setting Up Linear Mass Balances
Paper Topic: Modelling & Control (Wastewater Systems)
Presenter Name: Mr Le Hong Quan
Company/Organisation: Ghent university

Paper Information :

Data reconciliation is a proven technique to evaluate the consistency of measured data and to improve data quality. For its application to be successful, data redundancy is an important prerequisite. This study provides a generally valid practical stepwise procedure to identify a set of measurements that satisfy the required degree of redundancy in the case of wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) data. The measurements redundancy was analysed to gain insight in the way measured variables are related through linear mass balances. Particular attention was paid to the contribution of additional “overlapping mass balances” and “closed mass balances” of conserved components. The accuracy of the reconciled results was assessed as well. A general procedure was derived and applied to a full-scale WWTP.
