ICMGP 2022 - Call for Special Sessions

The Executive Committee of the 15^th International Conference on Mercury as a Global Pollutant 2022 (ICMGP 2022) from 24 – 29 July 2022, invites you to share your work, ideas, research, and challenges by submitting a proposal for the Special Sessions themes and topics of the conference. The overarching theme of ICMGP 2022 is ”Reducing Mercury to Achieve a Greener World”. Like other ICMGPs, you can look forward to five days of engaging discussion on the important issues related to mercury science and policy with attendees from around the world albeit, virtually this time.

Special sessions (SS) is open to anyone that will attend ICMGP 2022.

How to submit a Proposal

Special Session coordinator will be responsible for the following:

Submit a 1 –pager providing the following:

• Session theme
• Outline and Focus of Session (250 words)
• Co-chair(s) for that session
• Possible speakers during SS

Acceptance

The Scientific Steering Committee of ICMGP 2022 will be responsible for the selection of proposals for the Special Sessions at the 5^th SSC Meeting in November 2021.

Important Dates & Information

• Call for proposals open Sep 2021
• Call Close 31 Oct 2021
• Information to be sent to the Conference Chair lynwill.martin@weathersa.co.za

• A minimum of 5 Abstracts are needed for a SS to be considered
• Special Session Coordinator must find and have agreement with delegates/researchers to submit an abstract.
• EXCO will inform Special Session Coordinator of the outcome of the proposal after the 5^th SSC Meeting
• Once a Special Session is confirmed, it will be added under Special Session for Abstracts to be submitted during online registration.
• If not enough abstracts are received for the Special Session, the abstracts will be considered under the normal conference themes as oral presentations.
