SINTROL OY is a 30+ years old Finnish company developing and manufacturing various kinds of dust monitors, primarily using the measuring principle of Inductive Electrification. The instruments are widely used for Bag Filter Monitoring both in safe as well as hazardous areas. The newer developments of SINTROL include the QAL1 certified dust monitors S305QAL for dry stack gas and EXO for wet (below dewpoint) stack monitoring solutions. Stack gas above the dewpoint (= no liquid aerosols present) can be measured directly using the Inductive Electrification principle. The S305QAL is EN 15267 certified with a lowest range of 0-7.5 mg/m³. The instrument, maintenance & calibration, and applications will be described. Stack gas below the dewpoint (= water and acid droplets are present), f.e. after wet DeSOx Scrubbers, requires a different sampling & monitoring solution, as the direct in-situ monitoring, f.e. using opacity, light transmission, scattered light, electrification, has a full aerosol interference. The EXO uses a new developed optical forward scattering light detector module with an integrated sample handling and conditioning system capable of handling wet stack gas at temperatures way below the dewpoint. The instrument, maintenance & calibration, and applications will be described.
