Abstract Information :
On-line NOx analysis is often used to control ammonia injection and to monitor catalyst performance in the Selective Catalytic Reduction process in a coal fired power plant. It has always been very difficult, to make continuous measurements in such a large ducts where the gas flow is normally turbulent and not laminar. In addition high temperature and high dust load increase the difficulty in keeping gas extraction systems on line without plugging. SICK has years of experience in power plants measuring NOx and NH3 slip using their In-situ analyzer technology.
The company has installed over 800 systems in China for these measurements and continues to outfit plants all over the world which are adding SCRs to meet reduced NOx emission limits.
The presentation will address the special considerations that need to be taken into account when installing and operating NOx and NH3 analyzers in this difficult measuring point as well as provide information about the technology. In addition, actual installation examples will be shown and the performance history discussed.
