Abstract Information :

Urban air pollution is a major concern in India because of rapid urbanization and industrialization. Growing urban population is a major cause for air quality degradation in India. This rapid increase in urban population has resulted in unplanned urban development, increase in consumption patterns and higher demands for transport, energy, other infrastructure, thereby leading to pollution problems. According to WHO (2016) Gwalior is the most polluted city in India in case of particulate matter (PM10). In present study a survey of air pollution was conducted in four selected sites (residential area, commercial area and high traffic area, commercial cum residential area) of Gwalior urban area. The whole focus of this questionnaire survey is on awareness and health effects of air pollution. In this study questionnaire is divided mainly in three parts the first part is personal information second is awareness and third is health effect. On the basis of WHO report the level of particulate matter is very high in Gwalior city so the questionnaire also include questions on particulate matter in both awareness and health effects sections.
