Carbon Capture and Storage Technologies have a large part to play in meeting future climate goals and helping to de-carbonise energy-intensive industries. However, due to their use of amine compounds in the carbon capture process, they are at a high risk of nitrosamine formation. Nitrosamines are carcinogenic compounds, and their levels must be monitored to prevent human exposure. This poster will look at a number of areas where nitrosamine testing should take place to ensure Carbon Capture technology and sites are safe for workers to operate on and around, as well as methods and equipment that can be used to determine the potential levels.
