Abstract Information :
Accurate and reliable reporting of methane emissions is increasingly important for emission reduction targets and net zero pledges to be met with confidence. The Oil and Gas Methane Partnership OGMP 2.0 reporting framework includes 5 levels of emission reporting. Reporting at level 4 involves the establishment of site and source specific emission factors to calculate emission estimates. Reporting Level 5, considered the gold standard of methane emission reporting, augments level 4 estimates with the inclusion of periodic site level measurements. The goal is to reconcile estimates from source level, bottom up measurements with site level, top down, measurements increasing confidence in emission reporting. rnrnThis talk will discuss the challenges and uncertainties faced when performing reconciliations to reporting level 5 and the initial results of a reconciliation study using DIAL measurements at a LNG site presented. Emission data from fugitive emission surveys will be compared with DIAL emission measurements, highlighting the importance of site level measurements in capturing sources out of scope of fugitive emission surveys.rn
