ISPRA (Istituto Superiore per la Protezione e la Ricerca ambientale ) and RSE (Ricerca sul Sistema Energetico) implemented a PT exercise that involved 40 Italian Public Laboratories. During 2015 and 2016 the selected laboratories had verified their capabilities over some of the most common emissions parameters such as temperature, gas velocity and concentration of H2O, O2, CO, CO2, NOx and SO2 by the use of reference methods.
PTs were organised using the emissions bench loop realised by RSE in Milan (Italy); such installation, the biggest in Italy for these purposes, is able to produce fully synthetic a gas flows and matrixes to reproduce real emissions.
As a similar exercise was never done in Italy, it was necessary the definition of a protocol for the determination of the reference values and the comparison of the results.
Main methodological approaches and results are shown in the work.
