Abstract Information :
An improved method for high temperature simulated distillation based upon ASTM D7169 is presented here using the Zebron ZB-1XT SimDist column. This column utilizes a Glass Infusionâ„¢ Technology that results in more improved efficiency, resolution, and unmatched column-to-column reproducibility. This technology also allows simulated distillation methods, such as ASTM D6352 and D7169, to be extended from a C100 range further up to a C120 detection level while still meeting all the suitable system requirements. The experiments show that the highly stable PDMS phase chemistry along with the higher temperature level of the Zebron ZB-1XT SimDist design both together create an improved boiling point based separation. The high temperature resistance and faster equilibration not only provide excellent separation of hydrocarbon fractions but they also provide results that are reproducible.
