B3 Systems holds the US Patent [US 6,694,796] for a method using direct injection or spiking of particulate matter (PM) to calibrate PM monitoring devises. This method is referenced in Section 8.6(4)(i) of EPA's Performance Specification 11 as a method for providing a range of concentrations.
In 1991, B3 Systems expanded their testing support to become the first company to provide Chemical Spiking services and establish what would become the QA standards for those programs.
