Abstract Title: Advanced Continuous Emissions Detection with Situational Awareness
Presenter Name: Mr Stephen Beynon
Company/Organisation: Teledyne FLIR
Country: United Kingdom

Abstract Information :

Reducing emissions in the oil and gas industry is nothing new and has been around for over 50 years. In the United States, the U.S. EPA began focusing on this with the Title 40 Code of Federal Regulations to “Protect the Environment” and have made numerous advancements since. Globally, there are numerous regulations, advocacy groups and even operator coalitions focusing on this important topic. One key challenge is not the ability to monitor or detect emissions, but the ability to do so accurately with limited false positive or negative alarms. Another challenge is understanding that leaks happen, and are even permitted, in the industry and most technologies cannot discern an operational emission from a fugitive emission. Using advanced continuous Optical Gas Imaging detection solutions from Teledyne FLIR, operators will have situational awareness of the event and make the appropriate corrective action…immediately. This presentation will introduce the FLIR ADGiLE™ system for methane detection monitoring and highlight some key advantages learned through field trial partnerships with oil and gas leaders.
