SWIG will be holding a photography competition in the spring/summer of 2018, with the shortlisted photos on display at WWEM, Telford and the winner presented with a £200 prize during the gala dinner on 21st November. The focus of the completion will be the use of sensors in the water sector. There will be 2 categories for entries for pictures:
(with no branding on display in either case) and the judging will take into account technical excellence and artistic interpretation of the subject.
The exhibition is open to anyone; however, an entry may be rejected when SWIG, in its reasonable discretion, believes the entry does not conform to the exhibition rules and conditions. The best photographs will be shortlisted and displayed at WWEM at the discretion of the judges.
The data you submit in the form to enter this competition will be shared with SWIG. Please note that SWIG and ILM exhibitions have an agreement in place to safeguard the information you have provided. SWIG will process your information for the purpose of this competition only and may contact you directly for anything concerning this entry. ILM Exhibitions and SWIG will not ask you for any sensitive information or bank account details for any part of this submission process. Entries are limited to not more than 4 images per person.
Each image must have a unique title including the name of the photographer and organisation.
Entries must originate as photographs (image-captures of objects via light sensitivity) made by the entrant on photographic emulsion or acquired digitally. By virtue of submitting an entry, the entrant certifies the work as his own (aliases are not permitted). The entrant permits SWIG or partner WWEM to reproduce all or part of the entered material free of charge for publication and/or display in media related SWIG’s or partner WWEM’s activities. This may include low resolution posting on a website. Note: Entrants who indicate that their images may not be reproduced or used "will not be eligible for awards" and could be subject to disqualification.
Neither SWIG nor WWEM assume liability of any misuse of copyright. Images may be altered, either electronically or otherwise, by the maker. Artwork or computer graphics created by the entrant may be incorporated provided the photographic content predominates. All final work must be on photographic film, or on electronic file, or on photographic or electronic print material, mounting excepted. No title or identification of the maker shall be visible anywhere on the face of an image.
Photos must be in JPG file format, maximum dimensions: 1920 pix. Horizontal side and 1080 pix. Vertical side in 300 dpi, max 2Mb.
