Shawn Wood

Ohio Lumex

Biography:

Shawn brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table in regards to mercury species in stack gases and sorbent trap sampling. Before coming to Ohio Lumex, Mr. Wood was Director of Engineering & General Manager at Apex Instruments for over 7 years, where he was responsible for product development of sorbent trap sampling systems. He has also spent more than 15 years HG testing at over 280 sources, ranging from power plants to cement plants and DOD chemical weapons incineration facilities. Primary responsibilities for the last 6 years has been working with coal power plants & cement plants measuring HG & reporting for EPA compliance with MATS ( Mercury Air Toxic Standards ) & NESHAP (National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants).

Short description about presentation:

In this presentation Shawn Wood will discuss the approach coal fired power plants and cement plants implemented to comply with Mats ( Mercury Air Toxic Standards ) for coal power plants and Neshap (National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants) for cement plants. Explain the 2 basic technologies used to measure mercury emissions on a continuous basis for EPA compliance reporting. Differences between coal power and cement plant sources process and how this affects HG measurement for reporting emissions. Discussion regarding Mercury Cems is it an accurate emissions monitor or just a process monitor well maybe that depends on the source. Questions about HG sorbent trap analysis as a reference method and for continuous mercury compliance.
