Abstract Title: | Getting the best from Clamp-on flow measurement – Going beyond Gain, Signal and Noise |

Abstract Information :
Non-intrusive clamp-on ultrasonic flow measurement provides an excellent opportunity to deploy flow measurement throughout water and wastewater networks at scale, rapidly and without the need for significant engineering work. Whether portable, as part of pump or flowmeter verification, mandated through an MCERTS installation, operating as a fixed unit as a node on a data network or within a works, clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeters are valuable parts of the instrumentation engineer’s arsenal. They are also highly dependent on accurate installation and set-up, because the pipe on which the flowmeter is installed becomes part of the primary measurement device. This presentation will consider the issues around installation and show how built-in instrument diagnostics help to ensure the best possible accuracy and confirm performance.
