PEFTEC 2017 Day1
Managing and Measuring emissions of gases and particles to the atmosphere from petrochemical and refining industries - Day1

Managing emissions of gases and particles to the atmosphere is a vital component of environmental sustainability in the petrochemical and refining industries. This session will examine the latest theoretical, observational and modeling approaches that are available for quantifying both greenhouse gases such as methane and CO2 and short-lived air pollutants including NOx, mercury and hydrocarbons. The session will include presentations on state of the art techniques that can be used to better quantify emissions from existing industrial activities and that provide insight into future impacts of new industry practices and regulation. A programme of international speakers is assembled from academic and industry sectors who will cover issues ranging from measurement science, emissions quantification, regulation and future environmental priorities for the industry.
