Abstract to clarify the image of Kohpayeh-Segzi unconfined aquifer from water characteristics sight, a set of quantitative analytical data from alluvial aquifer of Kohpayeh-Segzi, at north-east Isfahan (Iran), has been processed by multivariate statistical techniques in order to investigate the evaluation of the ground water between peak circumstances. The original matrix consisted of 10 physico-chemical variables, determined in 24 ground water samples collected from semi-deep monitoring well which distributed through the plain area. The surveys were selected based on inter decadal period (2001-2011) pisometric well monitoring network. The surveys were carried out in June 2009 and March 2007 represents the lowest and highest water table extreme variation, respectively. The experimental 24x10 matrix was analyzed by Principal Component Analysis (PCA), and validation of the resulting Principal Components (PCs) and Separated zones was investigated by means of Cluster Analysis (CA). The exploration of the correlation matrix allowed uncovering strong associations between some variables (magnesium, sodium, chloride, total dissolved solids and electrical conductivity) as well as a lack of association between others (calcium, sulphate, bicarbonate, potassium and pH). PCA showed the existence of up three significant PCs which account for more than 80% of the variance in both surveys. Salinity, hardness and alkalinity are controlling components which respectively plays the principal role in features of ground water. River was defined as the spatial controller component lead to classify qualitative zones on ground water. The plot of PCs variation allowed to visualized spatial and temporal variations of contamination through the aquifer.
