Abstract Information :

The broadening of fuel specifications to incorporate renewable fuels into product portfolios presents a unique opportunity for GCxGC to set a new standard for petrochemical compositional analysis. Barriers to adoption of GCxGC in production labs historically have included investment cost, lack of established methods, and complexity of troubleshooting and upkeep. Regulatory bodies and consensus standards organizations are poised to approve GCxGC as an effective analytical technique and establishing criteria by which to evaluate system performance. This presentation will explore the development of hydrogen carrier methods to examine the different molecular classes of Jet, Diesel, and Light Cycle Oil products, while focusing on the chromatographic effects of different stationary phase combinations, column dimensionalities, and modulation times. This will provide users with a template of robust configurations and best practices to support both present and future product quality and process control needs with a truly next generation technique.
