Ever ran into a situation where speed of analysis and reliable results were asked in remote or difficult to reach locations? Promised portability still requires extra equipment. Besides the analytical instrument, gas and power supply, housing, laptop, communication cables are needed. Imagine having to get to a natural gas distribution point to do some measurements and having to drag all this. Besides the proper physical condition, you should also have knowledge on complicated hardware and software.
Recent enhancements will make operating in rough conditions easier. A portable field case using an industry standard Pelican Case protects your valuable instrumentation under the most severe conditions. Equipped with a trolley function and handle bars, it allows you to reach even the most difficult and remote locations. The interior is designed in such a way to hold the Micro GC, rechargeable batteries and operational gas cylinders.
To eliminate the need of a laptop and communication cables, reducing the carry-on luggage significantly, a wireless connection is used. Logging into the Micro GC with a phone or tablet allows you to do calibration, start the analysis and view the results. In addition, pre-defined alarms further improve the follow up action by the operator. This poster/oral will present the innovations and instrument performance.
