Short description about presentation:

INNOVATIVE & RELIABLE CONTINUOUS EMISSION MONITORING TECHNOLOGY for Gases
This presentation offers detailed information on innovative and most affordable technology options, quality assurance data, installation methodology including calibration and span, zero & drift check and data management and transmission systems. Presentation also refers to various regulations of EN & US for which CEM system are tested & validated.

In recent times Environmental monitoring has become crucial aspects for the various process industries in the world. Currently worldwide major focused are on Stationery Pollutants Emission sources and Ambient Air Quality Monitoring. Major stationary emission source are Power Plant, Steel plant, Cement Plant, BM & Hazd. Waste incinerator, Chemical Plant, Pulp & Paper, Glass Furnace, Refinery etc. Due to various stringent laws and compliance are introduced by various countries based on geotropically conditions, it has become now mandatory for industries and source emission producers to adhere the compliance of Source emission monitoring continuously.
Worldwide USEPA and EU directives states the objectives of CEM system to monitor & control air pollution. Various technologies developed and are available to meet the requirement of CEM application. Continuous Emission Monitoring in compare to periodic monitoring was more stable and has established more confidence for the purpose of pollution control.
In past few decades various gas measurement technology with Gas Handling devices are developed and used for source emission measurement. Due to strict implementation of compliance, the small & medium size of process industries where hesitating in implementation of CEM system due to its high CAPEX, OPEX and subsequently Maintenance cost. Thanks to innovation of a reliable & affordable Continuous Source Gas Emission measurement technology as per Monitoring Certification Scheme (MCERTS) as mentioned in TGN (Monitoring) M2 of Environment Agency, 2017 by using...

Gas Sensing Electrochemical sensor (GSES)
Ultraviolet Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy (UV DOAS)
Non-Dispersive Infrared Sensor (NDIR)
Zirconium Dioxide Sensor (ZrO2)
With all this Technology Flue gas is been extracted from stationery source and transferred to sensor through very efficient gas sampling, handling and filtration system.
The CEM System measures Pollutant gas with Pressure, Temperature, Velocity / Flow Measurement for compensation features as per USEPA 40 CFR Part 60 Appendix A, Method-2, Method-3, Method-3B, Method-19 & International Standard 1-56670-410-3.

This Innovative & Reliable CEM System consist of:
- Gas Measurement Sensor / Analyzer
- Gas Sampling, Handling & Conditioning system
- Zero, Span, Drift Validation & Auto/Remote Calibration
- Real Time Data Management

Principle & Operation of Gas Sensing Electrochemical Sensor:
Electrochemical sensors operate by reacting with the gas of interest and producing an electrical signal proportional to the gas concentration. A typical electrochemical sensor consists of a sensing electrode (or working electrode), and a counter electrode separated by a thin layer of electrolyte. Gas that comes in contact with the sensor first passes through a small capillary-type opening and then diffuses through a hydrophobic barrier, and eventually reaches the electrode surface. This approach is adopted to allow the proper amount of gas to react at the sensing electrode to produce a sufficient electrical signal while preventing the electrolyte from leaking out of the sensor.
Benefits: Reliable high measurement range for SO2 up to 5000 ppm and NOx up to 3000 ppm, 100% Linear output hence two-point calibration, less zero & span drift, consumable however less expensive replacement, approximate operating life 15K to 20K hours.
Principle & Operation of Ultraviolet Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy (UV DOAS) Gas:
Differential Optic Absorption Spectrometry (UV-DOAS) operates on Beer-Lambert’s absorption law-the principle that the amount of light absorbed is related to the number of gas molecules in the light’s path. This sensor is based on Absorption Technique and the concentration of Gases with their different absorption spectrum properties are determined using High Pressure Xenon Lamp. Molecules of gases will absorb the similar light spectrum. Here, the light detected is converted into an electrical signal.
Benefits: High measurement range for SO2 up to 2000 ppm and separately measuring NO & NO2 without any use of converter or catalyst up to 3000 ppm, 100% Linear output hence two-point calibration, less zero & span drift, lamp replacement with approximate operating life 10K hours.
Principle & Operation of Gas Sampling, Handling & Conditioning system:
Proper Gas Conditioning & handling device with three level of filtrations of 5 / 2 / 0.1 micron for Moisture and Dust separation / filtrations ensure the efficient continuous monitoring performance and simultaneously protect the sensor and its life.
Gas Sampling Probe with Large primary filter area and capacity having good air tightness, leak-proof design, low gas resistance and made suitable for tool less user-friendly filter cleaning possibilities. Dry compressed air is connected to take care of regular periodic purging for the sensor to recover and removal of particulates and moisture hence can stop condensation and dissociation of salts. Benefits: Most affordable automatic gas handling and filtration device, ensure low maintenance cost to users.
Zero, Span, Drift Validation & Auto/Remote Calibration
CEMS system testing performance are followed on DIN EN 15267-3 standards.
As system is equipped with Auto & Remote calibration function, ensure users trouble free and accurate real time measurements.
As Zero & Span drift are more stable for long time, helps users to spend less on operational maintenance.
Laboratory Testing as per standard DIN EN 15267-3, Point 10.9, 10.10 & 10.11
For Relative difference in Response time, Repeatability standard deviation at SPAN point and Repeatability standard deviation at ZERO point.

Benefits: Tested and validated as per EN standards of compliance, ensures confidence of measured emission levels at substantial reasonable cost of ownership and at par with other measurement technology.
Real Time Data Management
IoT based next generation featured Real Time Data Transmission to remote / cloud server wireless methodology and without using computer / algorithm software, hence ensure authenticity of data without any manipulation/tempering. Facility to snap-in type installation with SMS & Email alert facility helps users to effectively monitor process parameters.
Benefits: Not external computer device required, hence reducing investment and maintenance cost.
