Long history of working in standardisation, Former Chairman and Quality officer of STA, involved in developing uk methods eg instrumental SO2, Vice Chair of CEN air quality technical committee, Chairman of UK mirror BSI group, EH 2/1, and convenor of CEN flow and data quality (EN14181) working groups.

Short description about presentation:

This talk will provide an overview of European regulations for emissions monitoring and for the control of continuous emission monitoring systems (CEMS) used in Europe. It will outline current activities in a number of European collaborative research projects which are developing improved understanding of the performance of stack emissions monitoring standards in Europe (Sulf-Norm, IMPRESS2 and Heroes). these projects are investigating a number of current issues in stack emissions monitoring and are developing improved monitoring methods. the talk will also cover current standardisation activities in CEN TC 264 which develops the standard methods used in Europe. This will include the suite of standards which are used to provide a quality assurance framework for CEMS (EN 14181, EN 15267, etc). The new data handling standard currently in development will also be covered. It will discuss the applicability of these standards to India. The talk will be presented by the Chair of TC 264, who is also the convenor of the working group currently developing the data handling standard and revising the EN 15267 suite of standards for the certification of automated measuring systems.
