Abstract Title: | ULTRAMAT 23 – a multi-technology-analyzer |
Presenter Name: | Barth Clemens |

Country: | United Kingdom |
Abstract Information :
ULTRAMAT 23 is a very simple and easy to operate Analyzer for emission measurement. It combines several measurement principles in one housing. The technologies used are NDIR for infrared active gases, UV photometer for SO2 and NO2 in low concentrations, electrochemical cells for O2 and H2S and paramagnetic measurement of O2.
The technologies of single beam NDIR-spectrometer electrochemical cells or paramagnetic oxygen measurement are used and well known for a long time in the market. So, this will not be described in detail.
A bit more special is the UV photometer which uses LEDs as light sources. LEDs in this required wavelength are comparably new on the market. Their advantage is the low power consumption and their long lifetime. This will be explained more detail in the presentation.
At the end there will be a short excurse to a very interesting application of a completely different type of emission. The Firefighter safety research institute in the US use ULTRAMAT 23 to monitor and control their training house they can set on fire.
The ability to combine different technologies in one device - depending on the task – enables ULTRAMAT 23 to serve such a bandwidth of applications even beyond its core application which is emission monitoring.
