The monitoring and control of Toxic Gas detection within Water Treatment works is a very real health and safety obligation that can lead to serious harm if the right equipment and measures are not in place to ensure personal protection.
Particularly, due to high volumes of chemical dosing such as chlorine required on crucial disinfection process within clean water treatment to destroy harmful bacteria, and the reality of aging assets and infrastructure that exists today for many of our UK Utility companies, presents an ongoing challenge across the board that water companies face of whilst trying to balance the requirements to deliver wholesome water to the public yet maintain a safe environment for its employees.
The presentation shares a collaborative story with one of the UK’s largest Utility companies on the 5-year development and design of a bespoke, robust solution for multi-point, multifunctional gas detection system and validation panel, which provides prevention of accidental gas release, data communication and control with remote alerts of chlorine and sulphur dioxide gas leak detection.
