The recycling and waste industry has published its strategy for meeting net zero by 2040. This sets out a plan for how the sector can save 8% of UK emissions by decarbonising recycling, collections, and residual waste treatment. Charlotte will layout the net zero roadmap for the sector and how upcoming policies can impact this journey. Including the potential application of the Emissions Trading Scheme to the residual waste management sector - which will bring with it the challenges of accurately and feasibly monitoring biogenic and fossil carbon emissions.
